12 Fiber Fusion Splice Tray - White

Fiber Optic Splice Trays are designed to securely route, organize, and protect optical fiber and fiber optic splices. Standard splice trays typically accommodate up to 12 splices and can often be stacked to support higher fiber-count applications. Their compact design minimizes space requirements while providing excellent compatibility with a wide range of fiber management systems.

Fiber splice trays are commonly installed where fiber cables are joined, terminated, or patched. While splice trays provide organization and protection for fiber splices, they are generally used in conjunction with fiber optic splice closures, distribution boxes, wall-mount enclosures, and other fiber management products to provide complete environmental and mechanical protection.

The splice tray functions by routing the incoming cable into the splice area, where the cable jacket is removed. The fibers are looped completely around the tray and are placed into a splice holder. The fibers are then spliced onto the outgoing cable, if it is an intermediate point or on to pigtails if it is a termination point. They're also wrapped around the tray and fed from it.

To ensure optimal network performance and long-term reliability, the minimum fiber bend radius should always be maintained when routing and securing fibers within the splice tray.

Installation Process

1. Route fibers into the splice tray using spiral transportation or fiber furcation tubes and secure them with cable ties.
2. Splice fibers per local practice.
3. Place spliced fibers into the sleeve holders, arranged by color code.
4. Carefully coil the outgoing fiber slack into the tray
5. Carefully coil incoming fiber slack into the tray
