Universal ULTRASplice Mechanical Splice

The ULTRAsplice is a high performance, cost effective, mechanical fiber optic splice that is reusable and easy to install for emergency or permanent installations. The splice features a patented glass capillary alignment tube, pre-loaded with index matching gel, to allow inspection of fiber location during installation. Additionally, the collet locking nuts allow users to tune and secure the fiber for optimum alignment and retention.

Benefits

• The glass capillary allows inspection of fiber misalignments. Using a Visual Fault Locator, the light will amplify the fiber misalignment point and allow the user to fine tune the splice.
• When fibers are properly aligned, no light will be visible. This feature allows the installer to obtain a low loss splice quickly and efficiently.

Features

• The ULTRAsplice mechanical splice is for 125µm clad fiber in singlemode and multimode applications. The splice accepts any combination of buffer sizes from 250µm to 900µm. Average loss is less than 0.2dB with a fiber retention of over 2lbs.
• Cleave and insert fibers while checking the location in the glass capillary, secure by twisting a locking nut.
• The ULTRASplice is a fully mechanical fiber optic splice for singlemode and multimode splicing. No fixtures or special tools are required, and they are tunable and reusable.
